A SAFE HAVEN

The sanctuary provides a safe haven for all animals. We provide species appropriate food, allow for species appropriate socialization and play. Each animal is treated as a sentient being.

The dogs normally arrive with lots of baggage and we work to improve their behaviours within the norms of instinct vs what we want to suppress. Ex - if a heeler comes his instinct is to herd - we use management to redirect his instincts into productive, socially acceptable behaviours.

We take in dogs that no other rescues in Canada will take in due to severe behavioural issues. Because of this, 90% of dogs here live out their days at the sanctuary. The other 10% who can be adopted safely are placed with new families.
