CURRENT ANGELS

CORP DAVID LAVALLEE
Angel to Joey (RIP)
Dave rescued Joey from a neglect situation and has been by his side since. During the most recent vet visit, we discovered Joey is in kidney failure. Joey does not have much longer on earth, but he truly appreciates the life he has had because of his Guardian Angel. Dave will be by his side to the end.

SASHA DURRINGTON
Angel to Oz
Oz came from BC as an unpredictable biter and does not trust easily. Oz is a funny boy who needs strict structure with limitations. As he's gotten older, he has mellowed, but now has medical concerns to address.

KAREN BURGESS
Angel to Charlie
Charlie came in with severe dog aggression. With medication and training, he can now walk through groups of dogs. He even initiates play with other dogs!

KELLY SKOOKUM
Angel to Beauty
Beauty has lived with me for many years - deemed unadoptable due to severe resource guarding. She was adopted once but had to be returned as the adopter did not take her resource guarding seriously and continue her behaviour management training.

DEANNA JACOBSON
Angel to Morgan
Morgan came from Sherwood Park/Edmonton. His family cared about his so much they drove him up. Morgan has bit 2 people (resulting in stitches). However, this love bug just wants to be a huge lap dog. He loves to play with certain dogs (just like a puppy!), and he hogs the bed.

ALISON ANDERSON
Angel to Whalen
Whalen is from the NWT and spent over 2 years in a shelter before coming here. He was found tied to a chain outside. Due to his past, he is human aggressive. Since arriving, Whalen has thrived on the routine and structure. He spends his days romping around with his pack and wooing the females.

ALISON BUCKLAND & TAMARA DERKOWSKI
Angel to Max Henry
Max is from the NWT and was originally found severely emaciated. He is human aggressive and dog selective. Once he gets to know you, Max is the biggest baby; he loves cuddling and giving kisses. Max has made tons of progress. He has learned to socialize with other dogs and thrives on protecting his family/property.

HEATHER ELLIOT
Angel to Auggy (RIP)
Auggy is an extra large goofball. He can be human aggressive and an escape artist. He loves playing with his dog buddies and snuggling.

JOSEPH BANNON & MICHELLE LEDGER
Angel to Saku
Saku arrived from the NWT. He does not like humans very much and is excitable. His parents made the best decision for him to live a full life. The behaviourist assessed him and determined he is unadoptable and suggested euthanasia. His humans wanted him to live. Saku is thriving and has been integrated into the pack. His humans will be his guardian angel for the rest of his day/years.

ALISON GOLDEN
Angel to Zeus
Big boy Zeus came from the NWT many years ago. He is a senior boy. Due to his need for strict behaviour management plans, he was never adopted. Zeus will finish out his years in the home he has known for the last 8 yrs.

KYLIE CAMPBELL-CLARKE
Angel to Diesel & Barbie
Diesel (brown and white) is headstrong and hates male dogs. Barbie was trained to attack people using racial slurs, which makes her unadoptable. They are a bonded pair; when I tried to adopt out Diesel, he got into trouble and displayed behaviours not seen here. I suspect he did it on purpose to get back to his beautiful queen Barbie.

KELLEY & BRAD WEATHERBY - WEATHERBY TRUCKING LTD
Angel to Kai
This little fellow has been here for the last 3 yrs. Originally from Mexico, he was rescued by tourists and brought to Alaska. Of course, he had small dog syndrome and ran the home. This little tyke has 15 bites on him. His owner did the right thing and reached out. Kai is a permanent resident. He loves people and dogs and is now being a top-notch helper dog with new admissions.

CORPORAL DAVE LAVALLEE & KRISTA DICKEY
Angel to Duke
Tallest dog coming through! Duke just arrived from Canmore, AB. Duke has been in three different homes, and in each home, he bit people. The Canmore SPCA and his owners (who drove 27 straight hours to get him here) felt he needed one last chance to live out his days. Duke is a permanent resident. He has been integrated into the big pack and fills his day's snoozing in the sun.

JOY ANNE & JEFF ZAWYRUCHA
Angel to Bruno
Bruno is a permanent resident due to his aggression towards people and dogs. He can now be with certain dogs, and his aggression towards humans has become less severe.

HEATHER TYBRING
Angel to Oliver
Little Oliver has to be the sweetest, but most insecure boy I have ever met. Oliver has been with me most of his young life. He is approx 7 or 8 now. He has been adopted twice and returned each time because he just can't adjust to change unless you have patience and understanding of his needs. Oliver has severe separation anxiety and is an escape artist. However, he is the most cuddly dog you ever met, loves to play ball, loves kids and just wants to be in the place he loves the most. It took me over a year to settle Oliver and make him feel secure. Because of this Oliver is a permanent resident.

JESSICA BURGESS
Angel to Bo (RIP)
Well, look at this handsome man. He is human and dog aggressive with two bites (needing stitches). He was scheduled to be euthanized before coming to me. This is his final chance to live out his days.

VIRGINIA SARRAZIN
Angel to Bono (RIP)
Mr. Bono was adopted, but unfortunately, due to life changes, he came back. He lost his best friend last year and suffers severe anxiety (ongoing issue), but he does well once he is bonded with a dog. Lucky for him we found him a mate. Bono is a hard boy to adopt out and with him aging he will continue to live out his days here.

GEORGIE AND GHOST
Angel to Daisy
Daisy has improved over the years and is much more social with dogs. However, she just could not improve her trust issues with humans enough to be adopted out safely. So Daisy will spend the rest of her life with her doggie buddies and home she has known for the past 5 yrs.

CHRISTINA REEVES, DANIELLE HINNEK, ZAC MICHEAL
Angel to Bear
Bear doesn't trust easily and has a bite history. He is very fearful around humans and dogs. Since arriving, he has made many doggy friends and even some human friends! He is adjusting well.

LAURA MELVIN
Angel to Nanuq
Nanuq is a purebred Canadian Eskimo Dog. She is an older gal who has anxiety, tons of energy, and can be a bit bossy. She is up for adoption but needs a very special home that is experienced with the breed. Please contact me for inquiries.

CORP DAVE LAVALLEE
Angel to Missy (ADOPTED!)

VAL HOLMES
Angel to Budz

CHRISTINA REEVES & AMY GRENIER
Angel to Sushi (RIP)
Sushi came in and (after bloodwork and ultrasounds) we found she was suffering from a genetic disorder where her blood vessels were dilated in her stomach. She could not absorb nutrients or keep food down, so the decision was made to let her go.

KATE & TRAVIS GILBERT
Angel to Sam
Sam is a wonderful, loving boy who thinks he's a lap dog. He is a social butterfly (except with some males). He is crate trained, and house trained. He is up for adoption!

HARLEY'S FAMILY
Angel to Harley
Harley is human and dog aggressive. He is here for training. We will determine what work he needs to go home.

CARRIE LAURENSON & PAUL SAVAGE
Angel to Lou

TIFF TANASE
Angel to Hank

VALERIE ZUDIEMA
Angel to Kia (RIP) & Shadow
Kia has been with me for 10 years. She was a helper dog and is now enjoying retirement. UPDATE: Kia sadly passed from a heart attack. Shadow arrived in 2017 and will spend his retirement here. He did not get along with children and needs a pack to thrive.

CARRIE LAURENSON & PAUL SAVAGE
Angel to Gus
Gus has been here for 3 years. He is super sweet and came in with severe allergies to cats and grains. He has hip dysplasia and blown back knees but that doesn't stop him from being a great boy. He is 6 years old and spent most of his life tied up prior to coming here.

BRUNO DIETRICH
Angel to Pono
Pono is a lovely gal who adores people. She takes her job guarding the livestock very seriously. Her best friend is a little goat - they even cuddle together in her house!
Lou lived with an elderly man who lost his home. He is very loyal, but lacked socialization and was rather shy with lack of confidence when he came in. Now he is the life of the party and loves everyone! Great with dogs - not so much with cats.

MERCEDES HENLY
Angel to Chi - ADOPTABLE

MERCEDES HENLY
Angel to Nelly - ADOPTABLE
Chi and Nelly are littermates and are very bonded. Nelly has pretty severe prey drive and has killed livestock in the past. Both are super sweet and love to climb fences. They are up to adoption, but only for country homes - they don't like city life!

CATHIE
Angel to Indica - ADOPTABLE
Indica is an unexpected admission who was referred by Humane Society Yukon. This beautiful girl is full of energy and has an old broken tail that is crooked. Although she has very little training, she loves dogs and cats! If all goes well, she should be up for adoption to the right home. She has already had two homes because of her excitability so let's find Indica her forever home.

DENISE & CHAD NICOLAS
Angel to Lambo

Lambo was referred from the Humane Society Yukon. Unfortunately this boy has become reactive/aggressive towards dogs and humans. His owner took him to training sessions but everyone agreed he just wasn't improving. Lambo is very young but definitely has a lot of anxiety and fear, which require long term medications. He will also benefit from a routine and structure. Since arriving, Lambo definitely seems a little more confident. He has desensitized to his crate and muzzle with ease. He is doing great with the other dogs and has even played with Bailey! Lambo will be reassessed in 6 months to determine if he still needs meds or not. Overall, this fun loving boy is making wonderful progress. Denise and Chad Nicolas. Welcome to the program.
